The book offers current and prospective fine art students a range of realistic options and practical advice. My approach to this design focused on communicating solidarity and trust. The model employed for the aesthetic frame for the book was the visual language of a governmental institution. Size, cover material, and round corners reference the passport. Art information presented throughout this aesthetic reveals, at a very subtle level, the inherent tensions between an individual and an institution: surrendering/control; freedom/confinement; flesh/metal; art/work.
